Vild med videnskab: Det våde land – with Sebastian Mernild and Emmy Laura Pérez Fjalland
Please note: the talk will be in Danish
We live in a wet country. Denmark is surrounded by the sea and criss-crossed by fjords, rivers and lakes. Rain falls upon us, groundwater lies beneath us, and along our coasts the land meets the sea. Water is essential to our lives – and at the same time a force that shapes, moves and transforms our landscapes.
But what happens to the land when the water changes?
For this conversation, Sebastian Mernild, professor of climate change, and Emmy Laura Pérez Fjalland, cultural geographer, author and postdoctoral researcher, come together to explore what happens when water transforms our world.
Whilst Mernild takes us into the broader climatic contexts – the ice, the oceans, the atmosphere and the systems that help shape our planet and our future – Fjalland zooms in on the local landscape and examines how we, as humans, live with and experience the changes taking place around us.
The conversation is moderated by author and journalist Victor Boy Lindholm, and together they discuss how both science and art can help us understand the world we live in.
